Beloved GOP Lawmaker STABBED, Husband Killed In Overnight Attack

Longtime Republican Commissioner Bobbie J. Mitchell is currently in a critical battle for her life following a tragic stabbing incident at her residence in Lewisville, Texas, which resulted in the death of her husband, Fred Mitchell. The violent attack took place in the early hours of Monday morning. According to law enforcement, the assailant—23-year-old Mitchell Blake Reinacher, who is the grandson of the victims—utilized a serrated kitchen knife to execute the attack. Officers responded to a 911 emergency call shortly before 4 a.m. and arrived within five minutes, discovering both victims suffering from severe stab wounds. Fred Mitchell unfortunately succumbed to his injuries shortly after 5 a.m., while Commissioner Bobbie J. Mitchell underwent emergency surgery and is currently reported to be in stable condition. A press release stated that at approximately 3:53 a.m., officers from the Lewisville Police Department responded to an ongoing assault report in the 1000 block of Springwood Drive. Upon their arrival, they found two adult victims—a male and a female—both exhibiting apparent stab wounds. The suspect, a relative of the victims, remained at the scene and was promptly taken into custody without incident. Personnel from the Lewisville Fire Department provided assistance and transported both victims to local hospitals. Commissioner Mitchell, a former member of the Lewisville City Council and the city’s first Black mayor, who was elected in 1993 and served until her resignation in January 2000 to pursue her current county role, is being treated for her stab wounds and is reported to be in stable condition. Her husband, Fred Mitchell, was pronounced dead shortly after 5:00 a.m. The suspect, Mitchell Blake Reinacher, has been booked into the Lewisville jail and is currently facing charges of Murder and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The crime scene remains active as investigators and detectives from the LPD continue to process evidence and ascertain the circumstances surrounding the attack.
